Ryan, I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am traveling from New London, CT to Omaha, NE. My family and I are moving. I was a lay leader in my church, All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation. I preached this past Sunday a sermon entitled "Significant". Your song was the basis for it and the musical meditation for the service. You're an amazing artist and better man. You have a way of turning your tragedy into something we can share and learn. God holds you in the hollow of his hand and you are loved. Be well, Ryan Kelly, and know your Dad is so proud. My heart to yours. Blessings! Barbara

Ryan... these beautiful words of yours about your father and your experiences since losing him bring tears to my eyes. He was so proud of you. I saw him smiling and clapping you on the CT dvds. And you were so open in expressing how you felt about him. How lucky you both were to have each other and also such an open relationship. No words left unsaid. How many people have regrets at what wasn't said? I'm sure you will be a source of strength for your mum and family. Take care and know that I think of you and your family every day and wonder how you all are. Lizzie. XX

Ryan, I know it has now been a few months since losing your father, but I also know that it takes longer to get through the grief of such a loss. I just wanted to tell you that I am thinking of you and your courage in going on with the CT tour. I know your Dad would be very proud of you for that. I have been a fan of CT since the very first PBS show ten years ago now. I have seen live performances in Houston and in New Orleans and think you have been an outstanding member of the cast with a very magnetic presence that has grown even better over time. I would love to be able to go to a Byrne and Kelly performance and keep hoping that you will put New Orleans back on your schedule one of these days. In the meantime, just know that at least one fan (and a very senior one!) has kept your in her thoughts as you have moved through the loss of your father.

The loss of a parent is a very difficult process to live through. My mother died 7 years ago and I still miss her. We were not very close as I was growing up but her last few years I spent a great deal of time with her and her death left a void in me to this day. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You carry on with you music with Neil and with Celtic Thunder.

Ryan, It was great to see you at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on October 13. I was the blonde girl in the wheelchair outside the stage door that you let me get a picture with. I am blind and my husband is writing this for me so was unable to read about your father's passing and I am so very sorry for your loss. A good friend of mine told me when my father passed away, " The love they leave inside your heart will help to ease the pain ". What a beautiful angel you will have looking over you. You are in my thoughts and my prayers. P.S. I truly look forward to your next concert with Neil. I eagerly await for your concerts as they brighten my life in a otherwise dark world. They mean the world to me. All my love, Lynne

Words can't adequately ease the pain of losing a loved one, a beloved parent in particular, and we continue, through the years, to miss them. Along the way the pain slowly turns to a bittersweet happiness. May your fondest memories fill you with warmth and love every time you think of him and all the fun (and not-so-fun) times you had with him.

I know it's been many months since you lost your father, but I just discovered your wonderful tribute to him. I will include him and you in my prayers at Mass. I hope you will be back in Orlando next year and I'll be able to see you again to celebrate another birthday. I'll be more sedate at 91 than my 90th. I also need to find information about your and Neil's appearances. God bless you and your family.

Ryan, I was so sad for you when your Dad died. The first Christmas without my Dad was difficult. Someday we will be together again in Heaven, his spirit is always with me. This will be true for you too as I know you are faithful. May God Bless You and keep you strong.

Ryan, I just now subscribed to your mailing list and saw that your father had passed away. Please know that I feel deeply for you and that I do understand. I lost my mother when I was 35 and so wish that she was still here. Those of us who had wonderful parents are so lucky. I am happy for you to know that you had a special father. My husband and I saw you in Atlanta a few months ago. It was the best concert we have ever been to have been looking at Celtic Thunder's web site to get tickets to your concert in our area. We are hoping to bring my little grandson (Ryan Lahey-all Irish!) to see you & Neil in Knoxville, TN in April with tickets for the Meet & Greet so that he can meet you. He is taking voice lessons from Lisa Kelly & loving it. I know that our condolences are late in coming, but please express our sympathies to you family. And tell them how much we enjoy you & your music. Sincerely, John & Babbie

I am hoping the pain of losing your father has eased some. We know it never goes away entirely. But of course, you just have to carry on with your life knowing that is what he would want you to do. You and Neil have work to do. You have no idea how much your music means to all of your fans. So, carry on and you can depend on us to be with you!
